Suffering From Bad Cough, Green Mucus, Breathlessness, Difficulty In Speech. On Cough Medication. Cure?

Hi, I ve been suffering from a bad cough since November which I just can t seem to get rid of. It started as a normal winter cough and quickly escalated to the sort of cough that left me breathless and in agonising pain in my chest with bright green mucus and difficulty speaking, this was at its peak on New Years and was so bad that I spent the night in bed. The cough quickly got better but remained, occasionally giving out an oatmeal coloured mucus, however in the last few days it has gotten worse once more with more oat coloured mucus, and large coughing fits that yet again leave me in pain. What do you think is the cause and cure? I ve tried every cough medicine under the sun!

Hi welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears that you are suffering with bronchial asthma, it aggrevates during witer season, if it is not treated promptly and completely it can lead to green or rusty infection due to exudates into the pus.
It can be ordinary cough after the common cold due to in adiquate treatment. other possibility is Kennel cough caused by viral or bacterial infection carried from the cannines like dog etc. Possibility of T.B.should be excluded by proper investigationss like sputum for A.F.B.and x ray etc.
I advise you to consult a chest physician for diagnosis and treatment.There are so many new drugs to treat allergy like montelecast.
I advise you to avoid the things which are allergic to you, by finding out the things when you get the infection. other common allergy producing substances are fruits, juices,cool things, fish etc.
Don't worry you will be fine with proper treatment, I wish you a quick solution to your health problem, and thanks for calling.
