Suffering From Hiatal Hernia. Getting Blood In Stool And Vomiting. Should I Go For Medical Check Up?

Hi I am a 19 year old girl with hiatal hernia yesterday late morning i had a bowel movment with blood in it , but I still went to work while at work I THREW UP about a cup of what ever but it also had blood in it kind of like little balls or clots i really do not know what to do next ? i called my Dr and know call back yet?

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that you might be having gastritis and bleeding gastric ulcers.

I would advise that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated.
Following investigations may be helpful :-
1. Endoscopy.
2. Complete Blood Count ( CBC ).
3. Stool examination.

You should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg.
Further medical management can be planned after knowing the reports of the investigations.

Following precautions will be helpful :-
1.Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
3.Avoid mental and emotional stress.
4.Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
5.Avoid self medications, especially pain killers and steroids.
6.Drink lots of water daily.
