Dear Ayush
Thank your for posting.
You need to see a doctor straight away. He will add to your current prescription for both sugar and BP. Is your father taking the medicines regularly? This is very important for controlling both. I cannot
stress enough the importance of bringing both of these parameters down in the normal range.
Your father needs to follow a strict
diet plan. He cannot take refined sugar products and must take complex carbohydrates within a reasonable amount. Salts should be restricted. This will aid in bringing his BP down. If he smokes ask him to quit.
He needs to exercise for atleast 30 mins for 5 days a week. Try to check his blood sugars regularly.
Before you see a doctor check his BP over different times multiple times along with his sugar levels. Take these to the doctor along with you and he will be in a better position to prescribe a medicine for you.
You also need to get his fundoscopy done to see for any diabetic related changes. Ask him to take special care of his feet. Wear soft covered shoes when he goes out, and you need to see his feet every week for any
injury. As
diabetes causing
peripheral neuropathy and can cause small wounds to increase in size. Try to cut his nails yourself and not too deep.
If you have any more questions feel free to contact me. Thank you very much
