Hello
Welcome to HCM

Paranoid schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder that is specifically characterized by suspiciousness, even it develops against close members of family. It is also characterized by Delusions of prosecution and reference type.

What you have mentioned is occurring only because of her psychopathology. She is having schizophrenia and due to this she is having suspiciousness against you and others. You are under stress and you can be strong only if your sister gets good treatment. Treatment if schizophrenia is done with anti psychotic medicines like Chlorpromazine, Trifluparazine, Haloperidol or newer drugs as olanzapine, clozapine, resperidone. Sone of these medicines are even available in liquid formulations which can be mixed with food. When given to patient, patient can't recognize the drug. They are colorless, tasteless and odorless.
I will advise you to take her to a good Psychiatrist.

thanks

Hello.........
Thanks for your query. Paranoid schizophrenia is a mental illness characterised by excessive and unreasonable suspiciousness; persecutory ideas against even family members and referential ideas. It is part of the disease process. I would recommend a thorough psychiatric evaluation on an urgent basis so that a suitable antipsychotic can be started at the earliest.
Antipsychotics are available in oral, mouth dissolving, depot injection and suspension forms and the suitable route of administration would be decided by your psychiatrist. Wish her early recovery.

Hi,
thanks for using health care magic.
You should take your sister to a qualified psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and treatment.
She may be benefited with anti psychotic drugs like olanzapine or risperidone or aripiprazole.
If is not compliant for medicine, lon acting injectables or syrup froms are available for treatment.
With treatment, she will be fine and not doing any doubts and hence no crying.
thanks

Hi Ashwinitalathi,

Welcome to HCM Forum,

After going through your problem I can understand how stressed you might be feeling.

Its important to know that whatever allegation by your sister on you is because of her altered perception regarding you due to underlying illness.Paranoid schizophrenia is illness where always threat perception present even with close relatives also and this is present even with you - and if she is perceiving threat from you due to illness u can understand why she is reacting like in this way.

Here there is no problem in you ...So Don't feel guilty that u not able to be strong. Though u behave in very soft -good mannered still threat can perceived by her due to illness. So here being to be strong yourself means giving her appropriate treatment by any means either voluntarily or involuntarily - that will definitely improves her complaints regarding you and decrease her crying spells.Your role here as caregiver is make sure that she should attend to psychiatrist regularly and administering advised treatment regularly to her.

So take psychiatrist opinion earliest and start appropriate management.

Hope this helps.

Best regards.

Hi
Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic
These doubts are part of her illness and are present in any patient with paranoid schizophrenia. They come down as the illness improves with medication. So assure regular follow up with psychiatrist and good treatment compliance. Once she improves her doubts disappear. Give her good support and reassurance.
Hope this helps you
Thanks and regards
