Suffering From Sinus Pain. On Amitriptyline. No Change. Solution?
hi I have been suffering with sinuse pain for over a year ive been seen by a ent doctor and they put me on amitriptyline because the said that they didn't now weather it was a sinuse pain or migraine pain so the said take these for a few weeks but im still getting the pain in my nose and still the pressure on the top of my head what can I do I go on my hols in aug and I don't want to be like this
I would advice that you get other X rays (Hirtz and blondeau) to actually have an impression of the paranasal sinuses. This could help distinguish sinus pain from other headaches. failure to respond to standardized primary headaches like migraine, cluster headaches and tension headaches.
Including the neurologist into the scene for his opinion could be important. Discrepancy between a pain from ENT origin an headaches (primary of secondary) could be of great help.
I suggest you get a reevaluation by your ENT specialist and a Neurologist in the diagnostic and management process.
Thanks and hope this helps,
Best regards,
