Suffering From Stage 4 NSCLC With Bone Metassis. Stomach Bloated With Poor Appetite After Having Tarveca. Is It Normal?
Hi, I'm from Singapore. Writing on behalf of husband 62yrs old with stage 4 NSCLC with bone metassis. He was on Iressa till 10 days ago which his cancer was no longer responding to Iressa. So he had just started on Tarceva. For the past couple of months, he had been feeling bloated in his stomach and poor appetite. Wonder if it is normal for patients like him.
Thank you for sharing with HCM the concerns of your husband.
Tarceva use is associated with bloating and poor appetite. So, can consult his doctor to switch to another alternative if he cannot tolerate this drug.
Meanwhile, I can suggest to give him
- simethicone to relieve bloatness - ask him to eat often, small portions and slowly digesting - take probiotics
All the best to you and your husband my dear! Dr.Alba
