Suffering From Varicose Veins In Legs, One Busted Vein, Hard Lump Formed Below Knee. What Is This ?

Hi. My mother has suffered for as long as I can remember with varicose veins in her legs. Here recently, where she had one of these busted veins, a hard lump has formed and she says it is very tender. She has always said that when the veins are busting it is painful, but she has never had one to form a hard lump. It is right below her knee , but on the backside below the bend. What could this be?

varicose vein results in vein protusion, due to poor back flow of blood and failure of vein valve to to do so, the blood becomes stagnant. the hard lump that you must be noticing must be the blood the clot. but confirm you need to visit your podiotrist or GP.
