Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic and posting your query.
SGPT is a marker of
hepatic inflammation.
SGPT decreased due to decrease in hepatic inflammation.
Due to decrease in hepatic inflammation, excretion of conjugated bilirubin has also improved, thus direct bilirubin level has decreased.
Total bilirubin of your daughter is same, because indirect bilirubin has increased.
Hepatocytes convert unconjugated(indirect) bilirubin into soluble conjugated(direct) bilirubin and then it is excreted.
Due to inflammation hepatocytes were not able to convert unconjugated into conjugated bilirubin, thus your daughter's indirect bilirubin has increased.
As the functioning of
liver cells improve, your indirect bilirubin will also decrease and your daughter's total bilirubin will decrease.
Hope you found my response to your query informative and helpful.
If you have further concerns in this regard, you can submit those with Healthcaremagic as well.
With good wishes,
