Hello heather

If you have a strong headache in the age of 50s , and you are a female its migraine untill and unless MRI brain is abnormal , normal MRI strongly favours this migraine

Thyroiditis of any cause can cause BIH benign inntracranial hypertension meaning high blood pressure of brain only , aseptic meningitis but confusion is there in it, besides hypothyroidim with high TSH triggers miggraine if the MRI is normal

Deep venous thrombosis of brain can also cause this severe headache , MRV of brain will be required

IN any case discuss this with your physician

Hope this helps
