Suffering With Diabetes. What Do My BP Readings Indicate?
I am 39 year old with diabeties type 2, sugar levels 6.1 at last check. I just wanted to know about my blood pressure . I have a monitor at home and just measured it 3 times and it was average 132/58 - I was wondering if the 58 was too low as it has been as high as 90. I walk and run every day and have lost about 16 kilo since first diagnosed with diabeties. Now weighing about 123kg

Hi,
its a great idea you got a BP monitor at home. Blood pressure readings are dual, the one on top, usually the higher is the systolic, and the one below, lower is the diastolic. 58 simply means its your diastolic blood pressure. I think you continue to record your blood pressure. If the higher exceeds 140 and the lower 90, its a sign of hypertension.
Also remind your doctor if he forgets to discuss your blood pressure level values with you.
