Hi.. I m 15 & currently bulimic. It all started last month when I started a water fast, which went well for a couple days until I completely lost control & binged. After that, I felt horrible & fasted again for about 3/5 days then ended up binging again but this time purging right after. It s horrible. Like a never ending cycle:( what should I do to stop this? Tip/ foods/ counseling?
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
You have mentioned that you don't have control over eating, bingeing episodes, and are engaging in weight losing behaviours like fasting, purging, etc. All these symptoms are typical of Bulimia nervosa.
I'm not sure if you havelet anyone else know about your eating issues. If not, then the first step in management of this problem is to let someone responsible know about your problem, so that they can get you to a professional for help and treatment.
There are treatment options available in the form of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and medication like SSRIs. So, I would advise you to ask your parent or guardian or school counsellor to take youto a psychiatrist for a detailed evaluation and further treatment.
Wish you all the best.
