Suggest A Remedy For Elevated Sugar Levels, Pale Face And Cold Body

My name is Raquel, my mother Maria, is currently not feeling well. She just finished eating and all of the sudden she felt weak. I tested her sugar and it was 193. She looks slightly pale and feels cold and clamy. Do you think something is seriously wrong with her.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Raquel. Good day to you. Your mother seems to be having signs and symptoms of dumping syndrome. It usually occurs after a gastric shortening surgery. What happens is a lot more food than usual passes to the bowel for absorption due to the short stomach. This leads to elevated sugar levels directly after a meal.In response to the elevared sugar the body releases more insulin than normal which reduces the sugar levels to below normal values leading to hypoglycemic symptoms such as sweating , palpitations, chills etc. which your mother seems to be experiencing. The easiest way to remedy this is to take multiple small meals throughout the day.
Regards.
