Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
DEAR DOCTOR, I HAVE PROBLEM LIKE IRREGULAR MENSTRUAL CYCLE AND ITS BEEN FROM THE FIRST DAY. I GOT MY LAST PERIOD ON 11TH NOV AND IT WAS NOT NORMAL. FROM 11TH NOVEMBER TO TILL NOW I M GETTING RUSTY N DARK BROWN DISCHARGE ON REGULAR BASIS. I CONSULT WITH A DOC AND SHE PRESCRIBE ME TRAPIC mf BUT STILL I DONT GET ANY RELIEF. KINDLY SUGGEST ME WHAT TO DO.
There are different possible causes and your doctor may want to consider finding the specific cause then treating that cause.
Possible causes are: (a) emotional stress or illness (b) abnormal levels of thyroid hormone (c)physical illness (d) high levels of prolactin hormone (e)polycystic ovarian syndrome (f)inadequate diet or high level of physical activity
Blood tests for hormone levels ( fsh, lh, thyroid hormone, prolactin hormone, testosterone) and imaging such as ultrasound would be helpful to find the cause.
I hope this helps
