General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable not to want to use a lot of medication but in some cases, it is the main source of treatment.

Pain that occurs after shingles is called post herpetic neuralgia.

This can be severe in some cases.

Recently one medical study found that persons with this pain had low levels of vitamin C and suggested that the use of this vitamin may help.
You can try and see if it helps you in any way.

If there is no improvement and the pain is severe, you may need to see your doctor about pain medication.

I hope this helps
