Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Hiatal hernia can be the reason or just loose lower esophageal sphincter. Barrett s esophagus cells appear after chronic inflammation. So it is hardly possible to have it just after 8 weeks of acid reflux.

If medicines do not help, and you are young person, laparoscopic surgery (called fundoplication) should be considered. It can set you free from all symptoms. Please consult gastrologist.

Hope this helps.
Regards.

Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read facts of your query and reviewed it in context to your health issues submitted.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.
You seem to have-Barrots-from early sleeping in 4 hours of meals, obesity,
IBS with GERD/hiatus hernia/ could develop with no reasons even.
The Barrots in your case could be from H.Pylori undetected and treated infection.
GERD of 8 weeks could develop in to Barrots esophagus,as the undetected H.Pylori with asymptomatic GERD is the cause in such a case.
Gaviscon-gel-liquid-3-4 times a day / and Bismuth-Kaolin liquid treatment with Protonics like-Panto-D-are the options which you can try.
Treatment with Biotin-1500 mcg x 2 times a week to stabilize the mucosa,is another option in your case.
Other causes of Barrots Esophagus needs to be ruled out.
For this to verify Second opinion from GI endoscopist - would be needed.

Just don't worry and be patient and co-operate with your doctors, till you verify with your attending doctors.

Hope this would help you to treat your health issues in the best way possible.
