Suggest Alternative Treatment For Depression And Schizophrenia
hey i am here to talk about my father. he is 52 years old and has been undergoing treatment for depression and pshcizophrenia with a mumbai doctor. the treatment has been going on since august. the doctor at in august prescribed him solian 50 mg tablets and risdone liquid which was to be given to him discreetly. he took the tablets for about 10-15 days and then stopped it altogether. therefor he felt very weak and slept a lot and stopped going out. we took him to our family doctor who then gave him a vitamin tablet (mocktel) and asked us to continue the psychiatrists medicine. he did so amd felt alright in no time. then a month later we went to the mumbai doctor. he had called us to check the progress. this time he increased the dose to solian 100 mg tablets. this time my father has been continuously taking the medicine on time and even taking the vitamin tablets but he is feeling very weak again after the increase in dosage. its been around 2 months since he is sitting at home. now we dont know how to make him alright again. we dont know whether we should continue with the psychiatrists medicine or take him to another good doctor and stop his treatment. pls advice as we are very tensed and confused. u can call me at 0000
if you are having any issues with your psychiatrist's treatment it is well within your right to consult another one and take a second opinion or get the treatment appropriately modified. please do consult another psychiatrist and take his/her opinion as well, the medication used in psychiatric diseases are heavily sedating and do cause drowsiness and lethargy which is perceived as weakness in the general parlance. initially it does cause interference in life style and job but as the treatment progresses and disease comes under control the dosage is reduced following which the quality of life too improves, but under no circumstance one must stop treatment it only makes the condition worse and resistant, so please continue with the prescribed treatment and if need be do take s second opinion.
