Suggest An Alternative Medicine For Zoloft Taken For Anxiety And Depression
Hello i have been on zoloft for years for anxiety and now and then bouts of depression, lately i feel like the zoloft doesn t work as good as it used to seems to make me feel depressed/sad when i take it, would rexulti be something for me to try it is for anxiety/depression?
Zoloft is an antidepressant medication known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
Rexulti is a different kind of medication, that works on different chemicals in the brain, but is also used for depression, though usually with another medication such as an SSRI.
So you could talk with your doctor about adding Rexulti to the Zoloft, or perhaps switching the Zoloft to another SSRI medication, and possibly adding Rexulti to that.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
