Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My doctor wants to put me on Atrovent for my Neb and also an Atrovent inhaler. The price is very high and not something I can afford. Does this come in generic? If not what would be my other choice that I could afford? I have Medicare.Thank you.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Atrovent is having ipratropium bromide. It is LAMA (long acting anti Muscarinic) kind of bronchodilator. You can ask 'ipratropium' in the generic store directly. If you stills don't get then ask for albuterol. Albuterol is short acting beta 2 agonist (SABA). It's action is similar to ipratropium (atrovent). You can use albuterol instead of atrovent. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
