Suggest An Alternative Of Percocet For The Treatment Of Lower Backache

I have been on Percocet 10 for four years due to lower back surgery, it seems I have to take three on some days now rather than two . Is there anything else I can do ? I have tried back injections, tens unit and other suggestions from my doctor which none have worked . I hate the fact that I must take this medication to get some relief. Thank you ... Donna.

1. Percocet [acetaminophen and oxycodone] is an opioid pain medication used to relieve moderate to severe pain and can be habit forming even in regular dose so talk to your attending doctor even if the medicine is not giving you desired results in relieving your pain.

2. As you have undergone almost every procedure and medication make sure to incorporate dietary regime and lifestyle changes in your daily routine:

DIETARY REGIME

i. Avoid urad dal, curd, fish, jaggery, milk, incompatible and heavy food, suppression of natural urges, anxiety, grief, outdoor activities when the sky is covered with clouds, and cold wind.

ii. Take maize, horse gram, karela, dried ginger, garlic, ajwain, saunf, kali marich, saindhav lavan, hing, jeera, old ghee, lukewarm water, castor oil, light walking, sudation, warm clothes, garlic and ginger mixed buttermilk.

iii. Fry 250 ml ginger juice in 250 ml of til tail, when 250 ml remains [make sure oil doesn't get burn], filter it after cooling and massage.

iv. Boil 1 spoon dried ginger in 4 cups of water till 1 cup remains, filter it and add 2 spoon castor oil and drink.

PS. General Instructions [lifestyle management]
i. Maintain straight back posture while sitting or standing.
ii. Avoid bending forwards and lifting weights.
iii. Sleep on a hard mattress.
iv. Gentle massage
v. back exercises: Leg rising in dorsal recumbent position, pushups, swimming.

Spine Management:
i. Relax the spine completely.
ii. Do not lie face down.
iii. Lie on your back with a pillow under the knee.
iv. Lie on the side with a pillow between the knees.
v. Distract your mind from the pain, watch television, read light humorous stories, listen to soothing music.
vi. Take 4 spoons of Tulasi juice
4 spoons of ginger juice
4 spoons of honey and take for 1 month.

. Boil 100 gm black pepper powder in 300 ml til tail--- filter, cool and massage OR mix dried ginger in castor oil and massage.
