Suggest An Alternative To Imovane While On Amiodarone
Good afternoon, I am currently taking Temazepam 15 mg, I find it habit forming. I have been told Imovane may be a suitable substitute. I am currently taking Amiodarone. With mild kidney irritation from this drug, could you advise something else from my sleep.
Zolpidem can be an effective alternative to Imovane (Zopiclone). It helps you fall asleep more quickly and also helps stop you from waking up during the night.
Generally, it is well tolerated by most of our patients however it may cause a bitter or metallic taste in your mouth or a dry mouth and feeling sleepy or tired.
And there is no documented harmful interaction if taken along with Amiodarone as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
