Suggest Best Medicines For Impulsivity, Depression, Anxiety And Lack Of Focus

What are the best meds to treat impulsivity, Depression, anxiety and lack of focus? My son is 12 we have tried adhd meds, and now zoloft/concerta mix. His impulsivity and lack of focus is at an all time high. We are both very frustrated with this. Any suggestions you may have of meds to study would be good. Stimulants do not seem to work.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern about your son. He is just 12 and at this age most common reason for lack of focus and impulsivity is Attention deficit disorders. You have already tried Sertraline and Concerta. If these medicines doesn't resulted in improvement then for his symptoms other ADD medicines like Attenterol can be used. Attenterol is a non-stimulant medicine that causes reduction of symptoms and improve focus with having risk of dependence. The drug has comparable efficacy to stimulants. Antipsychotics like Risperidone in low doses can also be used. These drugs help in control of mood symptoms and also control ADD symptoms. Drugs like Clonidine, Guanfenacine etc helps to reduce the anxiety and improve focus in children with ADD. Visit his doctor and discuss regarding these drugs.
