Hello,
1. High uric acid level can result in patients with
kidney problems, as they do not eliminate uric acid properly. Another factor is alcohol, eating purine-rich foods, etc. The treatment consists of making some changes in diet habits, so should limit intake of purine-rich foods, avoid alcoho, sugar, increase fiber intake, try to cope with
stress, etc.
Then, if this is not enough, and if uric acid will not get reduced, then your doctor will prescribe
allopurinol to reduce these high levels, however, that is associated with some undesired side effects, and should keep regular follow ups with your caring doctor.
2. Deficiency in vit.D3 is being treated with vit D and calcium supplementation, and some diet changes (increase intake of foods high in calcium and vit.D). However, we should look to other more serious pathologies that are causing low vit.D 3 like those related to
pituitary gland or kidneys.
So, in both cases, should check the function of your kidneys and correct related problems properly. Discuss it further with your caring doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
