Suggest Cause Of Chest Pain

My friend has been a chain smoker in his past. But he lessened it up and trying to give up but he is taking a lot of time. he smokes like a 2-3 nowadays recently he is having chest pain. he is 20 now. But sometimes like today at 2:00am he is having extreme chest pain what should I do ?

Severe chest pain in a heavy smoker may be due to - unstable angina, pneumothorax, cough fracture lung cancer and for these I suggest you to consult a pulmonologist to exclude the causes one by one and go for necessary investigations like chest x-ray, ECG in 12 leads and CT thorax if necessary.
