Suggest Cure For Bee Sting

I am a female age 60. I am visiting my daughter in Guam. I was stung by the bonnie bee on my right hand. It is swollen and while it doesn't hurt like it did it really iches a lot and feels like it is spreading up my arm. I have been taking benedril and applying cortisone cream to the bite. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks so much. Cheryl Eggart I am on meds for high blood pressure and colestrol which both are well under control. I had a masectomy this year of my left breast and am taking preventive cancer meds. I am cancer free.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain it seems that you have got an allergic reaction to the bee sting leading to swelling and itching at the sting site..
The first thing that you should do is to take a close look at the sting site and in case if the stinger is still embedded under the skin you can get it removed..
The medications that is benadryl and cortisone ointment that you are using are fine and you can continue taking it for relief..
You should also do cool compresses over the sting site and can also apply calamine lotion to soothe the area..
In case if there is pain you can take Tylenol..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
