Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Aditi Garg's Response
Dear, cough & cold with nasal congestion can be due to bacterial or a common viral infection. viral infections get cured by itself. to check to bacterial infection you should do nasal swab culture & sensitivity testing in your nearest laboratory. based on the result of the test you can start the antibiotics. ill the result comes you should do steam inhalation twice daily to relieve yours nasal congestion.
