Hi. The school nurse called me today and said my daughter was complaining of eye pain. She came home minutes later with a fever of 104.5 and eye pain. Two hours later, the meds brought her temp down, but the skin around her eye is bright red all over (maybe from rubbing). We've all had something lately with a fever and eye pain, but I'm not sure what to do for her pain. Should I try claritin with ibuprophen and tylenol? Could this be something more serious?
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your daughter is having fever and eye pain. Fever can cause redness of eyes and eye pain. This will resolve with the treatment for fever. Along with treatment for fever we need yo rule out eye infection and if it is present needs treatment by the use of antibiotic eye drops. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
