Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Female, 35yrs - I woke up ill yesterday morning and vomited consistently throughout the day. I now have bright yellow diarrhea. I have not eaten solid food for nearly 2 days. The pain in my stomach is severe to unbearable at times. Been on a liquid diet and am taking Immodium & pepto bismol. Any advice?
Vomiting with yellow diarrhea with unbearable pain is indicative of the following: • Intestinal infection • Sub-acute intestinal infection
This can be diagnosed by the following: • Tests of stool and blood • X-ray of the abdomen in standing position • Ultrasonography of the abdomen • If infection is present then obviously a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole helps the best • Take activated charcoal and pre and probiotics • Boiled and cooled water • Fresh homemade foods and beverages only • Electrolyte solution • Symptomatic treatment for gastritis, pain, and any other problems or symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
