Suggest Diet For Elderly Tiring Soon And Having Constant Pain In Knees
Hello doc,
My mother is 50 years old,but very weak. She has heavy daibetis and get wear down easily. She is also suffering from constant leg pain in ankles and knees. do you suggest any special diet for her? Does she need to undergo Bone mineral density test?
Hi, it sounds like she has diabetic neuropathy that can cause pain in her legs. The weakness can be caused by poor control of her diabetes, deconditioning or many other causes. She needs to see her doctor to sort that out. A bone density test will tell you if she has osteoporosis or osteopenia but it will not explain her leg problems or her weakness.
