Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doc my baby is 9 month old, she weighs only 7.11 kg her birth weight was 2.7 kg. She is very active and is gaining her milestones but sleeps only for 11 hrs a day. She eats less quantity at a time and seems to be more interested in playing than eating and loves to feed herself (finger foods are so limited). Please guide me regarding her diet. My family has skin allergies and i have allergic rhinitis.
Hi, Thanks for asking. In my opinion 7.11 kg weight for a 9 month old child falls in the normal range of the growth. The child at nine months develops pincer grasp and so to practice their new skills they like feeding them selves with finger foods. Also at this age the like to first explore their food and then eat. It is very normal for her age. You can give her cooked green peas, boiled potatoes, cooked lentils, cooked and shredded chicken, tofu or paneer(cottage cheese) pieces. Do not worry about the quantity she takes. It is usually guided by their appetite. If she develops allergy to any food you may have to avoid it. I hope I have helped you. Thank you.
