Suggest Disruptive Body Positions While Having Fracture In C2 Vertebra
I have fractured my c2 axis vertebra. I have little or no problem turning my head, though I wear a cervical brace to prevent head movement and help the fractured bones rejoin. I am concerned that inadvertently I am disrupting this healing process by mybody position in sleep for example, or by bending my head or chest to lower them. Is there a written source that lists the dangerous, disruptive body positions (the ones likely to force the bones apart that have started to join and heal)? YYYY@YYYY
Since you've mentioned as C2 axis fracture, yes, there are chances of deformation of bone due to disruptive body positions. Treatment of such fractures is individualized according to fracture type and patient factors (eg, age). If it is a stable fractures without neurologic deficits, with adequate pain control and early ambulation without a brace is suffice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
