Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, Lisinopril, with a 1/2 life of aprox 12 hours, would it be benficial to split a 20mg/daily to 10 mg BID as my pressures 12 hours I take it are 130 s/90 s and 23 hours after I take it are 140 s over 100. While 6 hours after i take it my pressure is 110 s over 70 s....
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Yes you could split the dose into 10mg in morning & 10mg in the evening. Actually your blood pressure after 6 hours is lower than normal & after 23 hour is high. Splitting the dose would help your blood pressure to remain constant over the day You could split a 20mg tablet to 10 mg BID, but its better to use a 10mg tablet twice a day.
If your blood pressure still remains inconsistent over the day. Consult your physician
Hope this information helps
