Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My insurance company changed my mess from Prilosec OTC to omeprazole. Instead of taking one every morning the instructions say to take twice a day before meals. My question is do I have to wait right before I eat or just on empty stomach. For some reason I can t seem to remember to take before I eat. Sometimes I remember in the middle of my dinner or when it s over. I am hopeless. Please help. If I could just take it anytime before I eat would help. Thank you My email is YYYY@YYYY .
Hello. Thanks for writing to HCM. I read and understand your question very well. I try my best to help you in this.
Omeprazole will give good effect when you taken on empty stomach before half an hour of meal. Take omeprazole capsules before a meal, preferably in the morning. Omeprazole tablets may be taken with food or on an empty stomach.
I hope my advice will help you a lot. Thanks and Regards. Dr Vijay
