Hi,
Unfortunately, offering treatment for cancer is difficult and cannot be done without knowing a great deal of information. What you are asking for is a second-opinion. If you are concerned, seeing another specialist for his or her opinion can give you a different perspective.
The exact type of cancer, where it had spread,
kidney or
liver function, what is readily available, what has he tried, what he can tolerate, etc., are just some of the questions that an
oncologist will consider when proposing a treatment. This cannot be done well with limited information unfortunately. At stage four, palliative medicine is a possibility as well. Palliative medicine focuses on the quality of life for patients with terminal medical conditions.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Timothy Wong, General & Family Physician
