The dose of 5 mg is ok. However the periods usually come within the next 7 days of stopping primolut. So just taking it till the day you want your period may not help to time the period.
It is better to start the tablet 5 days before periods but to escalate the dose from the day of expected regular periods to 2 tablets per day. It may be taken for the next 7 days after which it is best to stop and wait for the next 7 days when periods usually come ( mostly on day 3-4 after stopping the tablets).
