Suggest Exercise To Reduce Diastolic Dysfunction

i have been diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction, currently not taking any medication but monitoring BP 3X/week for 90 days. on average BP ranges from 130/78 down to 118/72. i am 62 year old female and active. is there exercise i can do to help correct this issue?

Hello,

We don't have great ideas on this. Some causes such as sarcoid or iron deposition are treatable conditions. Maybe thyroid maybe amyloidosis might be treatable conditions.

Sometimes the heart rate is high from deconditioning (being out of shape) and this LOOKS like diastolic dysfunction even if the heart muscle is fully functional.

In this case, gradually increasing fast walking capacity over the course of a few months is helpful. Not weight lifting.
