Suggest Home Remedies For Mucocele On The Bottom Of Tongue

Hi, I appear to have a mucocele or ranula on the bottom of my tongue.its been here for months. Some days, it it small, others very large. It is reddish and in some spots, translucent. Right now it has grown a bit to where its uncomfortable to eat without being cautious. I am at my wit's end. I want my life back. Any tips or remedies?? Please and thank you.

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it seems that you have a ranula under the tongue in the floor of the mouth and it is a type of mucocele only..
It is commonly associated with sublingual salivary gland that is a major salivary gland..
It occurs when there is rupture in the duct of the salivary gland that leads to accumulation of the mucous into the soft tissues and formation of a lump..
In cases of small mucoceles or ranual no treatment is needed and it resolves on its own..
But in your case and as per your explanation it seems that you have a considerably large sized ranula and it is also persistent and keeping on increasing in size..
In such cases Enucleation that is surgical removal of the ranula along with the salivary gland is done..
At times Marsupilization, is done and the gland is not removed..
