Suggest Management For Thyroid Disease
Thank you! I m going to be on medicare in July and I have supplemental insurance. I would like to find a new doctor in Spokane, Washington who can monitor my Thyroid gland issues. 45 years ago they removed 3/4 of my gland, 1/4 never functioned on it s own, so I ve been taking synthroid and levothyroxine ever since. Does this mean I have thyroid disease ? What kind of doctor do I need to be seeing in this situation?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
As you are already taking thyroid tablets since 45 years after the surgery that means you are being treated for hypothyroidism.
You need to check whether the medications you are taking is working for you by which i mean check your thyroid profile and see whether the report is in normal range or not.
And for this condition you need to consult an endocrinologist who is the specialist for thyroid related problems.
