Hi I'm 20 years old, I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst 2 months ago.the doctor ruled out surgery and said Thres is need for it .I am not pregnant . Last night I started having sever lower abdominal pains that comes and goes . I have a fever, nausea, vomiting and dizziness and shooting pains in my lower abdominal.
Usually asymptomatic simple ovarian cysts of less than 5 cm size, which develop due to reproductive hormonal cycle can resolve by themselves without treatment. May be because of that your doctor didn't advice surgery for that.
Now the possible causes of your present problem are: -Increased size of the ovarian cyst with torsion or the development of tubo-ovarian abscess or pelvic inflammatory disease, etc. -Gastrointestinal causes like appendicitis, Gastroenteritis, etc. As the symptoms are severe, better to consult your Doctor once, get examined and go for an ultrasound. This can help in finding the present condition of the ovarian cyst and the possible cause of your symptoms. Then, depending on the diagnosis, treatment can be planned.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
