Suggest Medication For A Bad Cough

allergy symptoms started monday and has progressed to extreme coughing with green mucus. ENT doc gave me prednisone and musonix cough suppressent/expectorant. I have been up ALL night wtih the worst coughing of my life. What else can i do. He would not give me an antibiotic.

I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, we should should definitely rule out lung infection (pneumonia) in your case because your are having excessive coughing with green mucus expectoration.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray.
If chest x ray is showing pneumonia then you should definitely start higher antibiotics like amoxicillin clavulinic acid or levofloxacin.
Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
