Suggest Medication For Bacterial Vaginosis
Hi i m having bacterial vaginasitis and my doc prescribe me a - doxycycline 100mg 3x a day - ofloxacine 400mg 2x a day - and metronidazole 500mg (2 ovula) every night Is it safe to take all the antibiotics? I ve took the doxycline 100mg for 2 weeks and the doc said my swab result still not good.. and i m having all the side effect which is (mild diarhea, nausea, throwing up and now I got flu)

Hi,
What medications has been prescribed for your condition of bacterial vaginosis is proper. It has been observed that your condition has not been cured properly with institution of Doxycycline antibiotic alone and hence, you are asked to take other medications as well. Kindly complete the course of the prescribed antibiotics, which is very much essential.
Along with it, kindly do the following:
1. Wash the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily.
2. Use vaginal pH balancing solution like 'v wash' regularly.
3. Wear loose fitting undergarments and clothes to provide proper ventilation.
4. Take multivitamin capsules once a day for 2 weeks.
5. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subsides completely.
6. Maintain good genital and personal hygiene.
