Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been dealing with this for three months almost. I am 23 years old, never had a chapped lip in my life until right before thanksgiving. I've used hydrocortisone, anti bacterial, tea tree oil, and aquaphor. Whenever it seems to get better the next morning it is worse and I don't know what to do. I'm considering maybe I'm allergic to something? Any OTC meds that could clear this up would help. I'm planning on the dr next week but I'm in so much pain now.
Thank you for asking! Chapped lips with pain usually are innocuous as vascular supply to them reduces in harsh weathers or exposures to cold.Simple moisturizing and petroleum jellies with hydrocortisone gels work. Now if they recur again and again i suggets you seek a doctor to sort out the cause. Dental mal alignment to recurrent aphthous ulcers can also cause that.So can vitamin supplements deficiencies. It needs a complete clinical correlation but nothing to worry about. It will resolve. take care
