Suggest Medication For Dry Cough,swollen Throat And Soreness

Been fighting this since before Xmas (started as tickle in throat). Now I have dry cough, swollen throat and chest soreness, mild congestion, chills but no fever? Got Z-Pak which NP didn't want to give me, but over 2 weeks what else should I do? I am not tolerant of steroid treatments and can't take certain medicines with my anti-depressants (Paxil specifically, trazadone & levothyroxine)

As you mentioned that there is dry cough , with throat pain and swelling and pain in the chest, since 3 months passed .
Z pack only act up to some extent .
In my opinion all these symptoms may be due to .
1 Asthmatic allergic bronchitis , in this case usually allergy added with infection and this occurs repeatedly .
Your medicine mentioned for depression and thyroid is nothing to do with allergy .
When such type of cases come to my clinic I advise them to take monteleukast+ bambuterole in combo pack twice in day with lukewarm water ( some times once a day ) .
Local dextromethorpan chewable tablet provide local relief in throat.
As far as concerned about pain in the throat I would like to advise you please get in throat swab examination and swab culture for proper pathogen .
So in my opinion consult an E N T specialist and get his opinion.
