Hello,

Ear pain may result due to infection. Infection occurs due to various reasons like AOM, SOM, CSOM but also embedment of wax in the ear (auditory) canal.

You are suggested to avoid swimming for a couple of days. Visit an ENT get clinically examined.

If there is wax, you can apply otorex ear drop in the affected ear, it will dissove the wax & it will flow out. Your ENT will then do an ear wash & you will be relieved. Do not do ear wash by yourself.

However, if the discomfort is due to infection, you will be treated with a course of oral medicines like doxycycline & pain relievers like acetaminophen. You may need an antibiotic ear drop for relieve.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
