hi.my daughter is 19 months.her fever is running around 100.7 to 99.00.Today is the 6th days.i gave her tylenol when her fever was above 98.7.what is the temperature of fever to be condider as fever for her?and what can i do now?shall i keep giving her tylenol when the temperature is above 98.7 or 100.4?when will the fever be back norma? thank.
This could be a simple viral illness too. Above 100F needs to be considered as fever. Just keep alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen please. Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually, rather than fever, what is more, important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably a viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once the viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about the duration if the kid is active.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
