Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 6 month old daughter has had gas and farting a lot lately. Also I have noticed an increase in her pooping, and its really runny/diariah like. We were on Similac Sensitive and switched back to Similac Advanced. Should I go back to the sensitive? Is the constant gas normal? it even happens while shes asleep. she shows no sign of discomfort either.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
This could be evening colic and is quite common in this age group. This happens when the baby sucks at the breast or feeds very fast and in eagerness to drink milk will gulp in air too. Unless the air comes out like burping or flatus this discomfort will be there and next time check if she is sucking too fast and gulping in air too. You will be more convinced. Usually I don't advice any medicines for this as they give only temporary relief.
You need not worry about it if the baby is feeding well and gaining weight well and playful.
