My mother is 80 and suffers from many health problems and is taking a cocktail of drugs daily. She is a diabetic which is tablet controlled. She also has spondylosis/arthritis for which she takes Naproxen and she has a very large hernia in the large bowel. In the last six months she has had numerous episodes of severe fluctuations in her blood sugar and has had two episodes of projectile vomiting, large amounts of "coffee ground" like vomit . After the first episode, her doctor diagnosed gastroenteritis. But it happened again six months later. She is reluctant to take this any further as at her age she doesn't want any invasive tests. I appreciate what I have described is only the tip of the iceberg in her medical conditions as if I explained everthing it would take a long time (she has had 13 operations!) but do you have any idea as to what could be the possible problem?
