General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your query,
Osteoarthrits is a condition caused by degenerative changes in joint due to old age/ joint injury. This results in destruction of cartilage in joints who have a protective action for the bones making the joint. The movements become painful there is swelling/ painful movements.
* All the three pills you have been taking (Meloxicam,Celebrex,Ibuprofen)are Nonsteroidal antinflammatory drugs- They are good for pain control in osteoarthritis.
- Alternatively local injectable corticosteroids are other option
These drugs are to be taken to control pain in acute condition -Along with rest to the affected joint.
* The management of the condition by -
- weight reduction,
- regular exercises & having an active life.
-learn relaxation techniques.
- specific exercises for the joint involved( physiotherapy)
-developing a healthy life style( eating, exercises, relaxation, meditation.
Help in having painless active life with least possible medicines.
* surgery is essential in non responding patients.
Consult an orthopedic doctor for guidance / advise.
thanks.
