General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. There is no need of antibiotic initially for throat infection. Most of it are usually viral and only need symptomatic treatment. Warm saline gargle and lozenges will be helpful. You can also take chewable vitamin C. Taking warm fluids like tea with lemon and honey , warm chicken soup with pepper are helpful also. If there is yellowish phlegm or high fever then you can consult your GP for antibiotics. Eophil forte is given for tropical eosiniphila. Allegra(antihistamine) can be taken to decrease irritation. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
