Suggest Medication For Pain In The Shin Area Due To An Injury

Hello. 10 days ago I slipped on a wet floor when running for the phone and hit both my shins on a metal bed. The impact was pretty high. They got swollen almost immediately while the skin barely broke (I wore pants). I iced them for a couple of times during the following hours. I was in pain, but not too bad (I could walk). The next morning most of the swelling was gone and within 3 days most of the pain subsided. My left leg is hit mostly on the shin bone, while on my right leg the impact was divided between the tibia and the muscle. Therefore, I can feel the pain on my right leg more when I walk, although my left leg is more tender to touch and the lump on the bone is larger. However it is still bruised and somewhat painful. Should I do something for this to speed up healing? Should I take any medication? And lastly, since I am a runner, I wonder when I will be able to get back to running.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
If the pain has reduced comparatively since the time of injury , it is unlikely to be a fracture.
So, it is a soft tissue injury which can come down with rest and limb elevation with cold packs
