Suggest Medication For Runny Nose And Nasal Congestion In A Toddler
Hi, My son is 2yrs and 9 months and is suffering from running nose and nasal congestion lately and throat pain. Last time visit 8months back he was prescribed Relent+ syrup 2.5ml daily once at night. Is this same dose enough now to cure his cold and also prevent cough. please prescribe new dose if required ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of runny nose and nasal congestion which is due to upper respiratory tract infection and common cold. The symptoms can also cause by airborne allergy.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take few preventive measures such as use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. You should Chew a Vitamin C pellet. Take decongestants and mucolytic agents. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take diet rich in vitamin B12. Keep yourself in moist environment and avoid dust. Medication prescribed is correct, just take few preventive measures along with this. Visit pediatrician once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get it examined and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
